Is there a waiting list?

No, there is currently no waiting list. However as there is only one therapist at the moment we do envisage appointments being booked up quickly.

What should my child wear?

We advise that all children wear comfortable clothing and supportive footwear.

#5

What do I need to bring to the consultation?

We advise that you come prepared for the consultation having written down your concerns and thoughts. What this means is that you don't leave the appointment, thinking I forgot to mention X,Y or Z.

#6

#7

What do I need to bring to the assessment?

Please bring along the questionnaires - we will send them out to you before session - if you have not already returned them.

#8

How quickly will I receive the report?

We aim to deliver all reports within 2 weeks of appointments. This is in keeping with best standards of practice.  If however any delay is expected, you will be made aware of this.

#9

My child has recently been assessed somewhere else, can we access treatment from Cavan Children’s Occupational Therapy?

Yes, we will however need a copy of their most recent report.

We will recommend a consultation session initially to get to know each other and to allow for us to complete some of our own clinical observations prior to setting any therapy goals.

If it has been longer than 12 months  since their previous Occupational Therapy assessment, we will need to compete a new assessment as it would be expected that your child's needs may have changed in that time. Especially if no intervention or treatment has been completed within that time.

#10

Cancellation policy

We require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation. If an appointment has been cancelled within 24 hours, it is up to that parent/ carer to reschedule for another appointment that suits.

Failure to cancel within 24 hours can result in full payment for the cancelled appointment.

We do ask that you give as much notice as possible as your appointment can be given to another child who is in need of it.

How can I pay?

On the day of the appointment you can pay by:

  • Cash

  • Card

A receipt will be provided - we offer both written or electronic recipets

Please note, we require all payments to be made on the day of the appointment.
