Cavan Childrens OT Parent Consultations
1 HOUR | FACE-TO-FACE
For a lot of parents knowing where to start & what to do is the hardest step in the journey to helping support your child; that's why this consultation allows the parent to come along and chat to a skilled therapist in a relaxed, non-judgemental manner. These consultations are mostly aimed at parents whose children are presenting with difficulties in a few specific areas. These consultations are for parents only and we do not advise that you bring your child along.
Our Pre-Assessments give you the chance to discuss your child's strengths & difficulties to ascertain if an assessment is needed. You will leave with strategies, activity suggestions and tips and tricks to triall.

What We Do
1. LET'S GET GOING
Prepared with a list of the areas of concern, a Pre-Assessment consultation usually takes 1 hour. We invite you to come along for an informal chat.
We recommend you come prepared with a list of areas of concern.
Unless specified a Pre-Assessment is a consultation with the Parent / Guardian only; this allows you the opportunity to discuss your concerns without interuption.
2. THE CONSULTATION
Our therapist will listen & discuss the areas of concern that you bring along to the session.
Together, we can problem solve and begin to unravel any task specific difficulties your child is presenting with.
3. REPORTS
Following the consultation our therapist will provide a report detailing what was discussed and the outcome recommendations.
The report will be with you within 2 weeks post-session.
4. WHAT'S NEXT
Where relevant, our therapist will provide the family with a range of activity suggestions, recommendations or tips to try with your child over the course of a few weeks/ months.
The therapist may also, at this consultation, feel that a full assessment is recommended.
